Internet Marketing Tips - Preparing For Christmas
I know it seems a little crazy to be writing an article on preparing for Christmas right after Labor Day, but now is the time that you should be preparing for Christmas. The Christmas season, so often assumed to be a dead time for Internet marketers, is the perfect time of year to actually increase your sales. If you think I'm crazy, you might want to read this article before making any snap judgments. I guarantee that you'll be surprised at some of these statistics.
I have been marketing online successfully now for over 4 years. And every time December rolls around, I hear all the complaints about how Christmas is dead and nobody buys anything. Well, you might want to know that December of 2003 was my fourth best month of that year; December of 2004 was my third best month of that year; December of 2005, while not a good month in comparison to the rest of the year, grossed the same number of sales as the prior December; and December of 2006 was an even better month than November was. I have never sweated a Christmas season yet.
The question you have to ask is why? It's simple. I plan in advance. While everybody else is taking the month of December off, I'm promoting new products and services. Let everybody else launch in January and at other times during the year. I strike in December when the competition has all gone to see Santa Claus Conquers The Martians. And I begin preparing for that time right now.
For example, I am currently in the process of writing my latest book on copywriting. It will be released, you guessed it, in December. I'm going to release it at half off the regular price, which will go into effect in January. Each December that I have done this, I've made numerous sales that I normally wouldn't have, simply because I established a presence while everybody else was off doing something else.
So if you're hoping to have a good Christmas, and a good December overall, now is the time to start preparing, whatever it is that you're planning to sell.
Trust me, you won't have a lot of people to go up against.
